Alex Ross and the ACO’s dissonant onslaught

I went and saw the New York music critic Alex Ross’s evening of 21st century Classical music the other week and really enjoyed most of the pieces. I dont listen to a lot of classical music so I got a bit lost in some of the longer works like Strauss’ Metomorphosen but it was particularly amazing to see some of the more atonal works performed live by 20 piece orchestra. By the end of the Xenakis piece I was imagining how torrents of water sloshing from either side of town hall with each dissonant jab.

I’ve just recently discovered the awesome world of early soul and R’n’B via PBS radio. This is one of the tracks I wrote down while listening last sunday. Enjoy!

First timer

So this is my first time making a blog and I’m a little unsure as to how it will unfold. I thought I would let it grow natural and let it be a place to share things I’m working on or finished pieces open for feedback.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.
